For the longest time I tried to figure out to fully utilize my Yamaha Motif XF8 in Ableton Live 9 because the solution was never posted, or that I was the only one trying to do so. Well I figured it out and I would like to post this for anyone else trying to do the same.

5) In the second part of that window you have the categories for MIDI Ports, Track, Sync, Remote
6) The first row should show 'Input: Yamaha MOTIF XF8-1'
7) In that row, switch the 'Track' ON and leave everything else OFF
