Verifying Ableton Live 10 Mac Crash

Nov 11, 2014  Recover Ableton Live’s recording after a crash Posted on November 11, 2014 by LucaTNT Last night, I was recording a podcast using Ableton Live as usual, and my Mac kindly decided that it was time for a kernel panic.

Just in case someone else starts to have issues with the latest release of Live... I have already filed a crashlog.
I was running the Beta for a month without any issues at all. No crashes, no issues in startup, just a good run.
So I have installed the official release now (leaving the Beta installed as I do) and upon startup I get a crash scanning 'Arturia Wurli V2'. I try and launch again, try and rescan this plugin and again a crash. Now it's blacklisted. So I continue and receive yet another crash, this time on 'AirChorus', same issue as previous (second attempt and blacklisted).
I then continue past this and get a third crash with the error 'could not load skin: Disco'Crash
That is where I start getting confused because I know that Live 10 does not have the 'Disco' skin so I wondered what the hell was going on and stopped at this point to investigate.
I load up my Beta and it loads just fine. I can also load in and use the 'problem' plugins without any issues.
I suspect what has happened when I installed Live 10 Suit is it has simply carried over a config from Live 9 that is not compatible. I deleted the preference files for Live 10.0.1 and copied the ones that were working under the Beta and live loads now without issue and the plugins now work as expected too.
I am confused as to how it would cause this issue especially since the Beta does not have this issue but if anyone else has issues on load, maybe just delete your preferences completely and let Live create default ones.
