Well I have to say while Djay Pro is coming along nicely, it is still some way off the big names (Serato, Traktor, Rekordbox DJ and Cross).
So if you are interested in Serato and take a next step, I would advise to get it now as long as this discount lasts. What do you think are the differences that make Serato so much better?
There isn’t really such a thing as better or worse as the choice is highly personal. What you can compare is the amount/quality of features for example. Things like track management are also different, in DJay Pro heavily relying on iTunes for example. With DJay Pro being a pretty recent addition to the DJ Software menu, it is understandable that it is a bit behind old hands like Traktor and Serato. As Terry_42 said they are catching up quickly though.
I totally agree, there is not a real BETTER here.
Currently it is simply the amount of features and the quality of some of the features (F/X for example) that make Serato the winner by points.
However if you do not need any of those features or even prefer a more simple setup, or the way the iTunes integration works in Djay then it might be for you.I have tested Djay Pro extensively since the introduced the parallel waveforms and even played some small gigs (if you can say gig, it was basically a friends get together) with it. In a full on gig I still prefer Serato, but your mileage may vary.
